The Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) at the Department of Energy (DOE) issued a funding opportunity for the Energy Improvements in Rural or Remote Areas (ERA) program. A number of grant resources have been developed to assist applicants. 

The Department of Energy Office of Indian Energy has published a new funding opportunity to continue to advance the clean energy transition on Tribal lands.

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Energy to Communities program provides Expert Match and Peer-Learning Cohorts to advance local clean energy goals. 

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has released an estimated $36 million in competitive funding for “weatherization ready” homes called the Weatherization Assistance Program Enhancement and Innovation (E & I) Grant. The new program targets low-income households to make improvements that must be completed before traditional weatherization activities (like adding insulation) take place.

As of April, The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin has approved 4,176 megawatts of solar projects, encompassing over 29,000 acres. This spring, the U.S. Department of Energy announced it’s awarding UW-Extension $1 million to educate communities about large-scale renewables to make siting and developing those projects smoother.

The Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program is designed to assist states, local governments, and Tribes in implementing strategies to reduce energy use, to reduce fossil fuel emissions, and to improve energy efficiency. 

The Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is currently accepting applications until July 10, 2024 for their annual Energy Transitions Initiative Partnership Project (ETIPP): Coastal, Remote, and Island Community Technical Assistance program. 

The Department of Energy Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program recently extended the application deadline for eligible Tribes from April 30, 2024 to May 31, 2025. Applications for states and local governments are still due April 30, 2024.
