What do partners do?
The Great Lakes Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center is a multi-state effort to help rural, tribal, and underserved communities access federal funding for energy and environmental improvement efforts. To better serve Region 5 and ensure underserved communities benefit from local technical assistance, we’re coordinating our services with partners across the region, including: Michigan State University, Purdue University, University of Illinois, University of Wisconsin, Ohio State University, the Environmental Protection Network, Community Engineering Corps, the Midwest Tribal Energy Resources Association, the Great Plains Institute.
Our partners:
- Help identify local communities and organizations engaged in environmental justice projects
- Connect communities to our grant assistance hub to learn more about funding opportunities
- Offer remote & in-person training on applying for and administering grants
- Provide scientific and technical consultancies and expertise to analyze environmental problems, clarify community needs, and support grant applications
