The previous Clean School Bus (CSB) Grant Program opened on April 24, 2023 and closed on August 22, 2023. The TCTAC anticipates a grant cycle with similar dates this year. The CSB Grant Program differs from the CSB Rebate Program in that it allows school districts to fund anywhere from 15-50 bus upgrades whereas the Rebate Program only allows a maximum of 25 school bus upgrades. Third-parties, such as nonprofit school transportation associations, can upgrade anywhere from 25-100 buses as long as they benefit at least 4 school district beneficiaries. The school bus upgrades must be for electric, natural gas, or propane buses.
